Blade Runner 2049 gave Ana de Armas the part of Joi, a holographic companion sold as software and written to be whatever the buyer wants her to be, and this 16x20 photo carries her signature. De Armas plays her as someone who may or may not be choosing anything at all, which is the question the film keeps circling back to. Denis Villeneuve directed the 2017 sequel. Essential for science fiction collectors.
Joi's scenes required compositing her performance with another actor's inside the same frame, which took months of post-production. The film took Academy Awards for cinematography and visual effects. The 16x20 format is larger than a standard photo and frames well.
