Tom Selleck Authentic Autographed Magnum PI Trading Card
This Magnum PI trading card comes signed by Tom Selleck and encapsulated by PSA/DNA. Selleck had spent a decade in commercials and unsold pilots before Magnum landed, and the part came with a well-known complication: he was offered Indiana Jones the same year and could not take it because CBS held his contract. What he got instead was eight seasons as one of the most recognizable characters on television. Perfect for classic TV collectors.
Thomas Magnum was written lighter and more fallible than the private detectives who came before him, and Selleck played him that way. The Hawaii setting and the show's willingness to end an episode unresolved set it apart from the procedurals running opposite it. Selleck won the lead drama actor Emmy for the role in 1984. Signed cards from the series do not turn up often in encapsulated form.
